Merchant & Evans was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

The company was based in Philadelphia , Pennsylvania . Between 1910 and 1911 it turned automobiles for the Club Car Company of New York City forth. After they closed down, some vehicles were offered as Devon for their own account . Production ended in 1911.

The vehicles had a four-cylinder engine . It made 40 hp . The chassis had a 318 cm wheelbase . The superstructures have not survived, but touring cars , landaulets , limousines , torpedoes and runabouts were created for Club Car .
