Parsons Electric Motor Carriage Company was an American manufacturer of motor vehicles .

Company history

John G. Parsons founded the company in December 1905. The company was based in Cleveland , Ohio . He announced that he would still be present at automobile exhibitions in 1905. This was only possible from January 1906, when the production of commercial vehicles began . Passenger cars were added a month later . The brand name was Parsons , possibly with the addition of Electric . Production ended in 1906.

Electric cars were on offer . The first model was a delivery truck . The chassis had a wheelbase of 178 cm . The payload was around 227 kg.

The car, however, only had a wheelbase of 168 cm. The electric motor developed 8 hp and came from the Elwell-Parker Electric Company . The engine power was transmitted to the rear wheels via a four-speed gearbox and two chains. The chassis was made of wood and steel . The setup was a stanhope . The original price was 1,600 US dollars .
