JV & C. Randall was an American manufacturer of vehicles .

Company history

James Vansant Randall ran a carriage manufacturing company in Newtown, Pennsylvania , since the 19th century . In 1895 he took on his nephew Clarence Randall as a partner. The new company name was JV & C. Randall . Furthermore, carriages were mainly produced. From 1903 automobiles were also produced. The brand name was Randall . Motor vehicle production ended in 1905. Thereafter courses continued to be produced. After 1909, the company loses its track.

There was no connection to the manufacturer Randall , who also offered vehicles as Randall .

Motor vehicles

The offer was a tricycle with a single front wheel. An air-cooled two-cylinder engine drove the rear axle. A 107.95 mm bore and 127 mm stroke resulted in a displacement of 2325 cc . Initially the engine developed 8 HP and from 1905 12 HP. In the same year, the friction gear used initially was replaced by a three-speed gearbox. The open body with roof offered space for four people. Was steered with a steering lever. The chassis had a wheelbase of 183 cm . The curb weight was given as about 544 kg. The original price was 750 US dollars .
