Company history

Cotta started his own business in Rockford in January 1903. This is where the series production of automobiles began. The brand name was Cotta . The first vehicle was completed in the first month. Ten more vehicles were planned for the rest of the year. In November of the same year Cotta sold the patents to the Four Wheel Drive Wagon Company . Production ended with that. A total of between 6 and 16 vehicles were built.

vehicles

They were steam cars. The steam engine had two cylinders and developed 6 hp . It was mounted as a mid-engine in the middle of the vehicle and powered both the front and rear wheels via chains. In addition, all four wheels were steered. All-wheel drive and all-wheel steering were completely unusual back then.
