Buckmobile Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

The company was founded in 1902 in Utica , New York , United States . Albert J. Seaton was the President, A. Vedder Brower was the Finance Officer, and William H. Birdsall was General Manager and Designer. In January 1903, the first vehicles at the New York Automobile Show were praised by the press. The brand name was Buckmobile . The production capacity from initially two vehicles per week was increased to five per week in October 1903. In October 1904 the company was taken over by the Black Diamond Automobile Company , which continued production while retaining the brand name until 1905. A total of around 40 Buckmobiles were built .

The vehicles had no special model names. A two-cylinder engine propelled the vehicles. Water cooling and air cooling were available.

In 1903 the engine developed 10 hp . The wheelbase was 203 cm. The only body shape was a runabout .

In 1904 the engine output was increased to 15 hp and the wheelbase was lengthened to 208 cm.

In 1905 it remained at 15 hp. The chassis now had a wheelbase of 211 cm. In addition to the runabout, there was now also a tonneau .
