Avery & Jennis Company was an American manufacturer of vehicles .

Company history

The company was based at 28 West Washington Street in Chicago , Illinois . It originally made bicycles . Gasoline engines , carburettors and silencers were added later . The first prototype of an automobile was made in 1899. Series production began in 1900. The brand name was Avery & Jennis . In 1901 the car production ended. The company continued to exist as a repair shop afterwards.

Motor vehicles

The company had its own model in its range. It was also possible to produce vehicles according to customer requirements. These could either have a gasoline engine or a steam engine .
