Allen was an American manufacturer of body shells and automobiles .
Company history
The company existed between 1895 and 1900. Its headquarters were at 304 West 53rd Street in New York City , New York State . G. Edgar Allen directed it. The company mainly produced car bodies. In addition, some automobiles were made, one of which still exists. The brand name was Allen .
vehicles
Only the data of the surviving vehicle are known. It has a single cylinder engine of Aster . The power of 7.5 HP is transmitted to the rear axle via a friction gear and a chain. It is steered with a handlebar. The open runabout offers space for two people.
In the museum in which the vehicle is located, the year of construction is given as 1898. Deviating from this, one literature source states 1900.
