Tucker was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

John O. Tucker was a photographer in Santa Clara , California . He made automobiles. The brand name was Tucker , unofficially also Tuckermobile . In the heading, the sources specify the period from 1900 to 1908. Two sources weaken it in the text to the effect that they indicate the beginning around 1900. The third source states that 1894 and 1899 were also passed down as the year of the foundation. In total, fewer than 20 vehicles were built.

The company must not be confused with the Tucker Corporation , which also manufactured passenger cars with the Tucker '48 after the Second World War .

vehicles

No details are available on the vehicles from the turn of the century.

The last vehicle was built in 1908. It was called the Gray Devil . It had a two - cylinder boxer engine with 16 hp . It was mounted under the vehicle and drove the rear axle. The open body in the shape of a roadster offered cramped space for four people.
