Victor Automobile Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

Joseph Lay and SC Lay founded the company in November 1906. Its headquarters and factory were in Ridgeville , Indiana . In 1907 they started producing automobiles. The brand name was Senator . Production came to a standstill at the end of 1910. In 1912 the company was dissolved. A total of seven vehicles were built.

There was no association with the Senator Motor Car Company , which used the same brand name for its passenger cars in 1912 .

The cars had an engine from the Carrico Motor Company . The air cooling was noticeable .

From 1907 to 1908 there was only the 20/24 HP . The four-cylinder engine with a 101.6 mm bore and stroke each had a displacement of 3295 cm³ . He was specified with 20/24 hp . The chassis had a wheelbase of 269 ​​cm . The choice was between touring cars and roadsters . The new price was 2000 US dollars each .

In 1909 this model remained unchanged. The 14/16 HP was added as an entry-level model . It had a two-cylinder engine that was specified with 14/16 hp. The wheelbase was 254 cm. The vehicles were bodied as a runabout and cost only $ 650. This model was removed from the program at the end of the year.

In 1910 only the 22/24 HP was in the range. The engine power had been increased slightly and the wheelbase was lengthened to 272 cm. A baby tonneau was offered as the third body shape .
