Ghent Motor Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

CA Ghent founded the company in late 1916. The seat was initially in Chicago in Illinois . There he made prototypes . In 1917 the company moved to Ottawa , also in Illinois. Ormus L. Brockett became the new president. It was here that the series production of automobiles began. The brand name was Ghent . Production ended in 1918. The plant was sold in January 1919.

A total of 187 vehicles were built.

In 1917 the range consisted of two models. The Model 4-30 had a four-cylinder engine with 23 hp and the Model 8-40 had a V8 engine that was specified with 22 hp. The wheelbase of 305 cm and the structure as a five-seat touring car were identical .

In 1918 the Model 6-60 replaced both models. It had a six-cylinder engine that was specified with 23.5 hp. The chassis had a 318 cm wheelbase. There was a choice of sedans and touring cars, both with seven seats.
