Perfection Automobile Works was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

The company was founded in early 1907 in Niles , Michigan . In February 1907 the company moved to South Bend , Indiana . Plans to manufacture vehicles for the Cornish-Friedberg Motor Car Company failed. As a result, own vehicles were developed. In 1907 the production of automobiles began. The brand name was Perfection .

In January 1908, Newton C. Gauntt made a takeover offer, which was accepted. However, the creditors were not informed of this. Bankruptcy followed in February 1908 . Production ended that year. The production numbers remained low.

There were two models on offer. Their engines had the same dimensions. The bore was 114.3 mm and the stroke was 127 mm.

In the case of the Four with a four-cylinder engine , this resulted in a displacement of 5212 cc and an output of 42 hp . The chassis had a 295 cm wheelbase . The only structure was a touring car with five seats.

The Six had 7819 cc and was specified with 70 hp. The wheelbase was 315 cm. It too was bodied as a touring car.
