Dalton Motor Car Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

Hubert K. Dalton (1866–1952) had experience in automobile construction with the Whiting Motor Car Company . He started his own business in Flint , Michigan in August 1911 . The aim was to produce vehicles that were marketed under his own name, Dalton . Production ended in 1912. A total of three vehicles were built.

Dalton later founded Dalton Manufacturing Co. in New York City .

The vehicles were similar to Whiting's models. A four-cylinder engine with an L-head powered the vehicles. It made 20 hp from a displacement of 2868 cm³ . The chassis had a wheelbase of 269 ​​cm . The setup was a two-seat runabout . The original price was 900 US dollars .
