Atlantic Electric Vehicle Company , previously Atlantic Vehicle Company , was an American manufacturer of motor vehicles .

Company history

The company was founded in 1912 and renamed in 1915. The seat was in Newark , New Jersey . Mainly it manufactured trucks . Passenger cars and taxis were also built between 1912 and 1914 . All vehicles were marketed as Atlantic . In 1921 the company was dissolved.

The commercial vehicles had electric drive . In the beginning it was 3 to 6 tonne trucks that had chain drives. Smaller models were added later that had a cardan shaft .

The first development of a car may have remained a prototype . The taxi with an electric motor was not very successful.
