Ames-Dean Carriage Company was an American manufacturer of body shells and automobiles .

Company history

The company was based in Jackson , Michigan . Originally it made car bodies. Automobiles were also made for two years. Three sources give the period according to 1909 to 1910. Another source says it was from 1914 to 1915. The brand name was Ames-Dean . It is unclear whether the full number of 200 announced vehicles were actually produced.

The only model was a high wheeler . With its large wheels and high ground clearance , the vehicle was suitable for the bad roads of the time.
