Henderson Motor Car Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

The brothers CP and RP Henderson left the Cole Motor Car Company in 1912 . They then started their own company in Indianapolis , Indiana . CP became President and Sales Manager, RP Vice President and General Manager, and Chester Ricker Design Engineer. They started producing automobiles in the same year. The brand name was Henderson . Production ended in 1914 when the money ran out. The brothers switched back to Cole.

WG Henderson, the son of one of the brothers, manufactured Henderson motorcycles from 1911 .

From 1912 to 1913 there was only one model series in the range. The four-cylinder engine developed 44 hp . The chassis had a 295 cm wheelbase . Model 44 was a two-seat roadster , Model 46 was a five-seat touring car , Model 48 was a seven-seat touring car, and Model 56 was a three-seat roadster.

In 1914 there was the Light Four . The engine was now specified with 27 hp. The wheelbase remained unchanged. There were no three- and seven-seaters. Technically identical was the Deluxe Four , which was a bit more expensive and was also available as a three-seater coupé . The top model was the Six . Its six-cylinder engine was specified with 34 hp. The wheelbase was 320 cm. It was available as a touring car with five seats and as a roadster with two seats.
