prehistory

The American Gasoline Motor Company (also spelled American Gasolene Motor Company ) of Baldwinsville , New York , went bankrupt in 1908 . A reorganization resulted in the Valley Boat & Engine Company in the same town. This company existed until the beginning of 1910.

Company history

The company of the same name was founded in Saginaw , Michigan in 1910 . It made boats and engines. In 1914 the production of automobiles began. The brand name was Saginaw , although Faultless was initially planned. Newell Barnard was president at the time. Vehicle production ended in the same year.

The company was dissolved around 1920.

There was no association with the Lehr Motor Company , which two years later used the same brand name for passenger cars.

vehicles

Only one model was on offer. It was called a cyclecar . However, it did not meet the displacement criterion for cycle cars. A self-made V2 - four-stroke engine powered vehicles. It had 85.725 mm bore , 100.838 mm stroke and 1164 cm³ displacement . Depending on the source, it was given as 9 HP and 9/12 HP. It drove the rear axle via a friction gear and belt. The maximum speed was given as 80 km / h.

The chassis was made of wood and had a wheelbase of 255 cm . The running board that connected the front and rear fenders was noticeably curved. It had to cover the drive belt. On the front wings were headlights . The open structure offered space for two people. The curb weight was given as 340 kg. The original price was 395 US dollars .
