Lane Light Car Manufacturing Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

Theodore F. Lane had built vehicles with the Wichita Falls Motor Company as early as 1914 . He founded the new company in Wichita Falls , Texas in 1915 and continued production. The brand name was Lane . Production ended in the same year. In total, only a few vehicles were built.

There was no association with Lane Motor Vehicle Company , which used the same brand name a few years earlier.

The only model was the Light Car ie, small car called. It was a further development of the Wichita Falls , which was still referred to as the Cyclecar , although it did not meet the criteria. An air-cooled two-cylinder engine from the Spacke Machine & Tool Company powered the vehicles. 88.9 mm bore and 93.218 mm stroke resulted in a displacement of 1157 cc . The engine drove the rear axle via a planetary gear and belt. The chassis had a wheelbase of 274 cm and a track width of 112 cm . The curb weight was given as around 454 kg.
