Bimel Automobile Company , previously Bimel Buggy Company and Bimel Spoke and Auto Wheel Works , was an American company.
Company history
The Bimel Buggy Company was founded in Sidney , Ohio in 1844 . The seat was moved a little later to St. Marys and later, under the direction of William Bimel, the son of the founder, back to Sydney. The temporary end came in 1904.
The Bimel Spoke and Auto Wheel Works (also written Bimel Spoke & Auto Wheel Works ) was the following company from 1904. AC Noble was President and TM Miller was Manager and Treasurer. They made accessories for the automotive industry. One source thinks that the original company name was adopted again within the next few years. In August 1915 they took over a prototype from Elwood Iron Works , which they put into series production. The brand name was initially Elco .
In April 1916, the name changed in BimEL Automobile Company and the brand name in August 1916 BimEL . Production ended in May 1917 when the company was dissolved.
The American Motor Parts Company of Indianapolis took over the assets.
vehicles
The only production model had a four-cylinder engine with 30 hp , supplied by the Caille Engine Company from Detroit . There was a choice of two-seater roadster and five-seater touring car .
Plans for a model with a six-cylinder engine were no longer implemented.
