Bell Motor Car Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

WD Bell, who previously worked at Peerless Motor Car Corporation , and HR Fordyce, previously a manager at Everitt-Metzger-Flanders Company , founded the company in late 1911. The seat was in Detroit , Michigan . In 1912 the production of automobiles began. The brand name was Belmobile . The first presentation was at the Detroit Automobile Show in January 1912. Production ended in the same year.

There was no connection to the Bell Motor Car Company of the same name from Pennsylvania .

Only Model A was on offer . A two-cylinder engine with 20 HP power drove the rear axle via a two-speed gearbox and a cardan shaft . A long bonnet and a low structure were striking. The chassis and bonnet were gray, the body painted blue. The roadster offered space for two people. Behind the seats was an oval gas tank that held 15 gallons (about 57 liters).
