Dormandy was an American automobile brand.

Brand history

James Knox Polk Pine headed the United Shirt & Collar Company in Troy , New York , in 1903 . There were shirts , shirt collars and collars made. In 1903 the production of automobiles began. The brand name was Dormandy . Vehicle production ended in 1905. A total of four vehicles were built.

The designer and namesake was Gary Dormandy. Many parts were manufactured in-house. This also included the chassis . Some of the parts for the engine were sourced from the Oscar Lear Automobile Company . The four-cylinder engine was air-cooled . The first vehicle was a closed sedan . This was followed by three open touring cars . The Troy Carriage Company from the same town made the bodies.
