Acadia was an American automobile brand.

Brand history

Ernest R. Kelly owned a workshop in Wilmington , Delaware , where he repaired bicycles and dealt with machines. After a few years of development, he started producing and selling automobiles in 1903 . The brand name was Acadia . Production ended in 1904 when he went out of business and moved to Philadelphia .

The only model had a single cylinder engine with 5 hp . It was mounted under the seat and drove the rear axle via a chain. The front of the vehicle was similar to the Renault models . The open body offered space for two people. The wheelbase was 157 cm. The vehicle weighed 272 kg. The base price was 600 US dollars . Mudguards , headlights and horn cost extra.
