Crane & Breed Manufacturing Company was an American manufacturer of vehicles .

Company history

The Cincinnati , Ohio company has been making carriages since 1850 . In 1902 there were experiments with an electric car . From 1909 ambulances and hearses with gasoline engines were built . Passenger cars were added in 1912 . The brand name was Crane & Breed . In the same year, the production of complete vehicles ended. Until the company was dissolved in 1924, only superstructures were built.

The electric car was a runabout . It didn't go into production.

The ambulance and hearse had a six-cylinder engine with 48 hp .

The cars of 1912 used the same engine. The chassis had a 386 cm wheelbase . Eight different structures were available. These were touring cars , roadsters , toy tonneau , torpedo , coupé , limousine , town car and landaulet limousine .
