National Motor Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles from Missouri .

Company history

HH Hennegin manufactured engines . He founded the company in 1899 together with his brother Peter Hennegin, the brothers L. and ME Allard and John A. Robinson. The seat was in St. Louis . In the same year the production of automobiles began. The brand name was National . The first five vehicles were built in August 1899. Then there was a capital increase and plans to expand production. Nevertheless, bankruptcy followed in March 1900 . This ended vehicle production.

The successor company Missouri Motor Company only manufactured engines.

Other US manufacturers of passenger cars of the brand National were National Motor Vehicle Company (1900-1924) and National Automobile and Motor Company (1902-1903).

The first five vehicles received a structure as a trap . They had gasoline engines .

Then two-cylinder engines are named. Depending on the version, they developed 2.5 HP , 5 HP and 8 HP.
