Company history

Frank S. Betz (1861–1940) founded the company in 1895 in Chicago , Illinois . He made medical devices. In 1901 the development and 1902 the production of automobiles began. The brand name was Betz . The customers were doctors. Vehicle production ended in the same year. In total, only a few vehicles were built. An advertisement from the company has survived from 1935. Betz died in 1940. It is not known when the company was dissolved.

The first prototype was ready for testing in February 1902. It had a single cylinder engine .

This was followed by a model with a two-cylinder engine .
