Milwaukee Automobile and Brass Specialty Company , previously Rosenbauer Automobile & Power Company , was an American manufacturer of automobiles .
Company history
George A. Rosenbauer left the Sanger & Rosenbauer Plating Company in 1900 . In November 1900 he announced plans to manufacture automobiles and built a vehicle that he named Rosenbauer . In January 1901 he founded the Rosenbauer Automobile & Power Company . The seat was in Milwaukee , Wisconsin . Funders obtained a name change to Milwaukee Automobile and Brass Specialty Company . Frederick D. Bergman and William Spence are named as co-owners. Series production of automobiles began in September 1901. The brand name was now Milwaukee . Rosenbauer was the designer. At times the company employed 40 people. Production ended in 1902. One source cites underfunding as the reason.
Other US manufacturers of passenger cars with Milwaukee in brand names were Milwaukee Automobile Company , Milwaukee Moto Company and Milwaukee Auto Engines and Supply Company .
