Hanauer Automobile Company was an American manufacturer of vehicles .

Company history

Charles Hanauer ran the Charles Hanauer Cycle Company in Cincinnati , Ohio . He was active in the field of bicycles . In December 1900 it was announced that it would enter the automotive industry. To do this, he founded the Hanauer Automobile Company in the same city. The company was active as a workshop, producing motorcycles and, from 1901, automobiles to order. The brand name was Hanauer . He had a three-story factory from 1901 to 1902 before returning to the original factory. In 1902, passenger car production ended.

The company continued to operate as a car dealer for Oldsmobile , Winton and Cadillac . In 1905, a Winton-based vehicle was fitted out as a fire engine and sold to Salvage Corps for $ 3,500 . Then the track of the company is lost.
