Hendrickson-Danielson Machine Shop was an American manufacturer of motor vehicles .

Company history

Magnus Hendrickson came from Sweden and emigrated to the USA in 1887. In 1900, he and his brother-in-law Danielson founded the company in Chicago , Illinois . They produced a small number of cars and commercial vehicles. The brand name was Hendrickson . In 1903 the company was dissolved.

The Lauth-Juergens Motor Car Company hired Hendrickson as chief engineer. He stayed there until 1913 and then founded the Hendrickson Motor Truck Company .

Products

The first truck was built in 1900 .

In 1902 a passenger car appeared. It had a single cylinder engine and solid rubber tires . A doctor from Chicago bought the first vehicle.

In 1903 other cars and commercial vehicles followed. One feature was the friction gear . Couplings were also created .
