The Neustadt Automobile & Supply Company , previously Neustadt-Perry Company , was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

JH Neustadt and a Mr. Perry founded the Neustadt-Perry Company in 1901 in St. Louis , Missouri . They started producing parts for the automotive industry. In particular, they made kit cars and some finished automobiles. In 1904 Perry left, after which Neustadt renamed the company Neustadt Automobile & Supply Company . The mostly used brand name changed in 1904 from Neustadt-Perry to Neustadt . Vehicles were also sold as Berkeley , Bluff Climber , Genevieve , JHN , Princess and Traveler . Vehicle production initially ended in 1908. From 1911 to 1914 Neustadt manufactured complete commercial vehicles . In 1915, three other passenger cars were built for customers.

This brand name was used from 1901 to 1904. In addition to vehicles with gasoline engines , there were also steam cars up to 1903 .

Brand name Neustadt

The range was characterized by a great variety. There was a choice of one , two and four-cylinder engines , air and water cooling , planetary and friction gears as well as power transmission via one or two chains. Cardan drive is not mentioned explicitly.

From 1911 to 1914 there were trucks .

In 1915, three four-wheel drive vehicles were built for HM Boyd.

Brand name Bluff Climber

This steam car existed from 1901 to 1902.

Brand name Genevieve

This was a vehicle brand from 1903.

Brand name JHN

This name was only used in 1903 and was derived from the initials of Neustadt. The front of the vehicle was similar to Renault vehicles . The rear seats could be removed.

Brand name Berkeley

This stamp existed from 1903 to 1904. A picture shows a tonneau .

Brand name Princess

The only marketing year was 1904. The body shape was a runabout .

Brand name Traveler

This mark was only used for a short time after it was renamed. This points to 1905.

Other American automobile manufacturers with this brand name were Bellefontaine Automobile Company (1907-1908), Traveler Automobile Company (1910-1911), Traveler Motor Car Company (1913-1914) and Taxicab Manufacturing Company (1924-1925).
