HK Shatswell & Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

The company was based in Dedham , Massachusetts . HK Shatswell made its first steam car in 1901 . This started the production of automobiles. The brand name was Shatswell . Vehicle production ended in 1903. In total, only a few vehicles were built. The sale of parts and accessories was more important to the company.

Only steam cars were on offer. The first model had a steam engine with four cylinders . The only known body shape was an open runabout with space for two people. The original price was 750 US dollars .

Larger models for $ 1,200 to $ 1,500 have also been listed, although it remains unclear whether these models were actually made.

A kit for a kit car was also available.
