Malden Automobile Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

The company was founded in Malden , Massachusetts in 1898 . In the same year, the first steam car was created as a prototype . Series production of automobiles only began in 1902. The brand name was Malden . Production ended in the same year. In total, only a few vehicles were built.

The Lynn Automobile Company continued production on its own account from the beginning of 1903.

Only steam cars were on offer. They had a steam engine with two cylinders . An illustration shows an open runabout . One version had a front bench that could be folded out for two more passengers. It was steered with a steering lever, which was either mounted outside or in the middle of the vehicle.
