Bay State Motive Power Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

The company was founded in Springfield , Massachusetts in 1896 . Charles N. King, CW Mansfield, George N. Morton and E. Abbot Todd were involved. LE Walkins was the manager-director and the designer. In the same year the production of automobiles began. The brand name was Walkins . Production ended in 1896.

50 vehicles were planned. 10 should have an electric motor , 10 a compressed air motor and 30 a gasoline engine . Both passenger cars and commercial vehicles were to be created. It is certain that some vehicles were made, but far fewer than 50.
