US Long Distance Automobile Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles and engines .
Company history
John C. Fremont, DJ Newland and Lewis Nixon founded the company in early 1900. The seat was in Jersey City , New Jersey . Initially, boat engines were created. In April 1901 the production of automobiles was added. The brand name was Long Distance . CC Riotte was the designer. In November 1901, the plans were ten to twelve vehicles a week. Vehicle production ended in 1903.
In early 1904 a reorganization led to the Standard Motor Construction Company .

During the three years there were five models in the range. All engines were water-cooled . The engine power was transmitted to the rear axle via a planetary gearbox with two or three gears and a chain. Little is known about model maintenance measures. It was not until the end of 1902 that the runabout models were given a steering wheel instead of the steering lever previously used.
The Type A had a single cylinder engine with 7 hp . The chassis had a wheelbase of 188 cm . The setup was a runabout.
The type B had a two-cylinder engine with 10 hp. The wheelbase was 203 cm. It was bodied as a tonneau .
The Type C had a slightly more powerful two-cylinder engine with 12 hp, the same wheelbase and a runabout structure.
The Type D was the top model. Its three-cylinder engine developed 20 hp. Wheelbase and structure corresponded to the Type B .
The Type E was a Type B as a delivery van .
