Altham International Motor Car Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

The designer George J. Altham came from Fall River , Massachusetts . In 1896, after years of work, he manufactured a gasoline engine . In August 1897, he installed it in a vehicle for test purposes. In October 1898 the prototype was mature enough to begin production. To this end, Altham founded the company with headquarters in Boston , Massachusetts and a plant in Fall River. The brand name was Altham . Production ended in 1899. In total, only a few vehicles were built.

A two-cylinder engine propelled the vehicles. It was air-cooled and had 6 hp . Its maximum speed was 1000 revolutions per minute. The open body offered space for two people.
