Sturtevant Mill Company was an American company in the engineering and manufacture of automobiles .

Company history

Thomas L. Sturtevant founded the company in the state of Maine in 1883 . At the end of the 19th century he moved the headquarters to Dorchester near Boston in Massachusetts .

In 1902 and 1904 two automobile prototypes were made . Series production began in 1905. The brand name was Sturtevant . Laurence H. Sturtevant, son of the founder, and TJ Sturtevant, nephew of the founder and also a trained engineer, were the driving forces behind the company's vehicle construction. Vehicle production ended in 1907.

Sturtevant Inc. sees itself as the successor company. This company was founded on March 30, 1920. In 1998 he moved to Hanover .
