Safety Steam Automobile Company was an American manufacturer of motor vehicles .

Company history

The company was founded in 1901. The headquarters were in Boston and the factory in Ipswich , both in Massachusetts . In the same year the production of automobiles began. The brand name was Safety . Production ended in 1902.

Only steam cars were on offer . They had a steam engine with a cylinder . It drove the rear axle via a chain. There was a choice of a small runabout with two seats, a brake with four seats and a light delivery van .
