Brecht Automobile Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

The brothers Charles, Frank and Gus Brecht founded the company in 1901 in St. Louis , Missouri . The manager was HF Borbein. They made automobiles, kit cars, and parts. The brand name was Brecht . Production ended in October 1903.

HF Borbein & Company continued production under its own name

One model was an electric car . The setup was a runabout .

There was also a steam truck with the Rushmobile . A two-cylinder - steam engine with 6 hp power powered vehicles.

In 1903, vehicles without an engine were also available. The buyer could assemble or have an engine of his choice assembled. Brecht offered various built-in motors .
