Olsson was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

Ivan W. Olsson founded the company around 1890 as a mechanical workshop. The seat was in Chicago , Illinois . He manufactured gasoline and steam engines and also repaired them. In 1900 the production of automobiles began according to customer orders. The brand name was Olsson . It was not until 1903 that he announced that he would also offer the vehicles on the open market. He did little advertising. Vehicle production ended in 1905. Then the track of the company is lost.

Six different models are known for the period up to 1902. Steam cars were available as a runabout for $ 850 and a Stanhope for $ 1,100. The other vehicles had gasoline engines. Two different runabouts for $ 900 and $ 1400, a tonneau with 10 hp for $ 1700 and another tonneau with 24 hp for $ 2800 are mentioned.
