Zent was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

Schuyler W. Zent ran the company as a mechanical workshop. The seat was in Marion , Ohio . In 1900 he completed his first automobile. By 1902 he produced and sold four more vehicles. The brand name was Zent .

In 1902 he designed a new model. He did not succeed in initiating series production himself. He then moved to Evansville , Indiana . There the Single Center Spring Company built the vehicles for him. In 1904 he returned to Ohio and founded the Zent Automobile Manufacturing Company in Bellefontaine .

Only one model was on offer. It had a single cylinder engine . It drove the rear axle via a chain. The setup was a runabout .
