Yankee Motor Car Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

The company from Chicago , Illinois produced a number of automobiles in 1910. The brand name was Yankee . A source suggests that Vincent Hugo Bendix was involved as a manager.

Highwheelers were on offer . With their big wheels, they were well suited for the bad roads of the time. They had an air-cooled two-cylinder engine that made 16 hp . 114.3 mm bore and 107.95 mm stroke resulted in a displacement of 2215 cm³ . Mounting as a front engine was unusual for a highwheeler . It drove the rear axle via a two-speed planetary gear . The chassis had a wheelbase of 254 cm .

The MB model was called the High Wheel Buggy and had solid rubber tires . The RR model as a sporty Racy Roadster had pneumatic tires.
