Company history

The designer John L. Lulley founded the company at the end of 1906 together with business people JS Tully, James P. McNary, William S. Cory and Walter Bryan. The seat was in Albany , Indiana . In 1907 the production of automobiles began. The brand name was Albany . Production ended in August 1908 when the company went bankrupt . A total of around 850 vehicles were built.

The Union Automobile Company from Seymour , Indiana took over the company in September 1908. It is unclear whether production continued there.

vehicles

Highwheelers were on offer . The first version, Model B , had an air-cooled single-cylinder engine with 6 to 7 horsepower installed under the seat. A handlebar instead of a steering wheel, steel tires, and the lack of fenders were old fashioned. The later version, Model B , had a more powerful single-cylinder engine with 10 to 12 hp and also a steering wheel, solid rubber tires, fenders and a fake bonnet that was supposed to simulate a front engine. The wheelbase was a uniform 157 cm.

In 1908 two models followed with an air-cooled two-cylinder engine that developed between 18 and 20 hp. It was mounted in the front of the vehicle. The wheelbase was now 244 cm. The Model F was like the previous vehicles a runabout and the Model G a Surrey .
