Elbert Motor Car Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

The company was founded in Seattle , Washington state in the late summer of 1914 . Nicholas Wilson as president, LH Beamish, LW O'Connell, a Mr. Elbert as donor and namesake and the designer FW Topkin were involved. They started with the production of automobiles. The brand name was Elbert . In March 1915 it was announced that production would continue at the former Goudy Machine Company facility in Sunnyvale , California . However, nothing was produced there anymore. In 1915 the company was dissolved.

Wilson later became involved in the Emerson Motor Company .

The only model was called the Cyclecar . However, it did not meet the criteria. The four-cylinder engine was water-cooled . It had 63.5 mm bore , 101.6 mm stroke , 1287 cm³ displacement and made 10 hp . It drove the rear axle via a cardan shaft . The chassis had a wheelbase of 259 cm . The open roadster offered space for two people in a row. The original price was 295 US dollars .

A light delivery van was also available on the same basis.
