Clark Motor Car Company

The Clark Motor Car Company was an American automobile manufacturer. It existed from 1910 to 1912 and was based in Shelbyville (Indiana) .

history

The company was founded by John D. Clark , JH Akers , AJ Thurston , Arthur Woodward and Maurice Wolfe .

It manufactured mid-range automobiles with four-cylinder engines for the Rutenber Motor Company . In June 1912 the company, which had been founded two years earlier, had to file for bankruptcy, but production was continued. As recently as 1912, Clark had to realize that profitable automobile production was not possible for him and sold his factory to Maurice Wolfes new company, the Meteor Motor Car Company in Piqua (Ohio) .
