Company history

The company was founded in California in 1909 . The Auto Vehicle Company was taken over in November . Its sales manager, Volney S. Beardsley, became president and Fred Hooker Jones became secretary and treasurer. John D. Hooker, George W. Tape, and Russell J. Waters were also involved. The production of tourist automobiles continued. Also, one model was marketed as the California . In February 1910, the company presented vehicles at the South California Automobile Show . In April 1910 an annual target of 150 vehicles was announced. In September 1910, production ended due to a shortage of materials, as the company had no contract with George Baldwin Selden , the holder of the Selden patent . As a dealer for Firestone-Columbus , Warren and Columbus , the company existed until at least 1913. In that year there were plans to resume vehicle production. The Beardsley Electric Company was founded for this purpose. After 1913 the track of the company is lost.

There were no affiliations with any of the other California- branded vehicle manufacturers : California Automobile Company , California Motor Company, and California Motors .
