WL Casaday Manufacturing Company was an American manufacturer of vehicles .

Company history

The company was based in South Bend , Indiana . It made things for agriculture. In 1904 the production of automobiles was announced and started in 1905. The brand name was Casaday for commercial vehicles and Williams for passenger cars , named after the designer ML Williams. In the same year, the car production ended. In November 1905 it was announced that stationary engines would now be built. Then the track of the company is lost.

There was no association with the Williams Motor Carriage Company , which used the same brand name.

Motor vehicles

The cars had a four-cylinder engine with air cooling . It made 25 hp . It drove the rear axle via a three-speed gearbox and a chain. The chassis had a wheelbase of 244 cm . The structure was a tonneau . The bonnet was noticeably long and the space for the rear passengers was accordingly limited. The windshield was striking . The original price was 2500 US dollars . One of the buyers was the local police.
