Grant Motor Car Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

Harry Elmer of Elmer Auto Corporation in Elkhart , Indiana , developed a vehicle in 1911. However, there was no possibility for a production in Indiana. He then moved to Cleveland , Ohio . The Grant-Lees Machine Company provided the necessary financial backing and founded the Grant Motor Car Company as an independent division. Harry Elmer became a manager. Automobile production began in April 1912. The brand name was Grant Six . Elmer left the company in November 1912. Production ended in early 1913.

There was no connection to the Grant Motor Car Corporation , which offered vehicles as a grant .

The only model had a six-cylinder engine . It made 50 hp . One illustration shows an open touring car . The original price was 2750 US dollars .
