description

Founded Marsh Buggy Motor Company in Detroit ( Michigan ) from the machine operators Frederick D. and Winfred Marsh . It seems that they made automobiles as a leisure activity alongside their job. The company was headquartered in a workshop at 6 Sylvester Avenue .

Highwheeler

Here, Marsh Motor Buggies were manufactured in unknown numbers on a handcraft basis . These were typical highwheelers . These vehicles were designed for rural America. Constructed like the horse-drawn carriages with which the farmers were familiar, they had huge wheels which were supposed to prevent the floor of the wagon from touching down on the unpaved roads, which were often muddy after rain. They could transport both people and goods. Any carriage builder, wagner or village blacksmith could carry out repairs and maintenance of the simple technology . The latter made highwheelers attractive even for small manufacturers like the Marshs, because they did not require a wide network of representatives. After 1910 these cars were from the cyclecars and the Ford Model T replaced.
