Eureka Motor Car Manufacturing Company , emerged from the Eureka Motor Buggy Company , was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

Charles Zimmerman founded the company in 1907 in St. Louis , Missouri . He started with the production of automobiles. The brand name was Eureka . In 1909 he moved to another plant in the same town and changed the name. Production ended in 1909. Zimmerman then moved to the Burg Carriage Company .

There was no connection to the other US manufacturers of car brand Eureka : Eureka Automobile Agency , Eureka Motor Car Company , Eureka Motor Buggy Company and Eureka Company .

On offer were high-wheelers , which differed in some details from the competing models. These were the cardan drive , the usual gear instead of a planetary gear and the combination of motor and gear in one unit. The engine was an air-cooled two-cylinder engine . The vehicles were right-hand drive .

In 1907 and 1908 there were chassis with four different wheelbases of 163 cm, 178 cm, 185 cm and 203 cm. Only a runabout was available as a structure . The engine was specified with 10/12 hp . One of the vehicles won a hill climb in 1908.

In 1909, the wheelbase of all models was 229 cm. Two-seat runabout, three-seat roadster , four-seat Surrey, and a light delivery van were available. The engine output had been increased to 14/16 hp.
