General Vehicle Company was an American manufacturer of motor vehicles .

Company history

The company was founded in Long Island City , New York , in 1907 as the successor to the Vehicle Equipment Company . In the same year the company manufactured passenger cars. The brand name was GV . Commercial vehicles were built from 1908 . In 1915 it merged with the truck division of the Peerless Motor Car Corporation . Production continued until 1920.

The cars were electric cars . The Ladies Phaeton and Roadster have been handed down .

From 1913 onwards, trucks with gasoline engines were built under a license from the Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft .
