JH Sizelan Company

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The JH Sizelan Company was a short-lived American manufacturer of light automobiles.

description

The company was founded in 1913 and had to close again the following year; one of the numerous victims of the "cycle car boom" of those years, which ended abruptly with the appearance of affordable, full-fledged automobiles such as the Ford Model T. It was based in East Cleveland ( Ohio ).

An American source gives Fidelia as the only brand name . A German and an English source, however, have entries under Fedelia and Fidelia . It is also noticeable that the construction period for the Fedelia is specified from 1913 to 1914, whereas for the Fidelia it is only 1914.

Only one model was on offer. It is described as a conventional, two-seater cycle car . However, it did not meet the criteria. The car was powered by a four-cylinder engine of Deluxe . 88.9 mm bore and 93.2 mm stroke resulted in 1157 cm³ displacement . The wheelbase was 244 cm and the track width 964 mm. An unusual detail was a sporty "boat tail", as it was common on racing cars at that time.
