SR Bailey & Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

The Amesbury , Massachusetts company originally made car bodies. In 1907 the production of automobiles began. The brand name was Bailey , possibly with the addition of Electric. 1916 production ended when the company went bankrupt .

There was no association with the Bailey Automobile Company , which used the same brand name.

Electric cars were on offer . The engine power of the electric motors has not been handed down. The range was specified as 128 to 160 km at a constant speed of 25 km / h. The batteries were mounted below the body.

Initially there was only one Phaeton called Queen Victoria . The chassis had 193 cm wheelbase from 1908 to 1909 , 201 cm wheelbase from 1910 to 1911 and 208 cm wheelbase from 1912 to 1913.

From 1912 to 1913, a roadster with a 269 cm wheelbase supplemented the range.

In 1914 there were three model series in the range. The Model E was a two-seater roadster with a 208 cm wheelbase and the Model EVP was a two-seater Victoria with the same wheelbase. The Model F was only available as a roadster. On a 284 cm wheelbase it offered space for two people and on a 335 cm wheelbase for four people.

In 1915, the offer to the restricted model F . A three-seater convertible with a 208 cm wheelbase, a two-seater roadster with a 284 cm wheelbase and a four-seater touring car with a 335 cm wheelbase are now named .

In 1916, the Model F was only available as a two- and four-seater roadster with 284 cm and 335 cm wheelbase.
